| I've been going on about the need for parents to have decent control over the access children have to the web (let alone computers generally) for a while now, in particular since the Australian Federal Government introduced FREE Parental Control software at www.netalert.gov.au. Testing this new Windows 7, the Parental Controls there at first also seem like another great tool for parents. The software at netalert allows you to log chat and web usage and restrict same. the Windows Parental Controls (which I can see from a quick google are also in Vista, but having given Vista a reasonably wide berth, this is my first good look), seem great. One simple tool - the TIME manager. Clock the times and days your kids are allowed/not allowed to log onto the computer. You could for example set it so quite simpley you cannot log on between 6 and 7pm. Or more varied times as you choose. Excellent tools, and a great thing I'm sure plenty of parents didnt know existed in Vista, but should use, or look forward to in Windows 7 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
