| And at 12.01pm the WHITEHOUSE website changed. www.whitehouse.gov is the official website of the Whitehouse. Now I'm as Australian as the next bloke, but I've taken a look from time to time at this site, and in recent months I've looked at Obama's campaign and then transitional websites. Whitehouse.gov is clearly designed by the very same people, and it's a credit to them. It's a clean looking site, with simple navigation and layout, many could learn from it! Importantly, it has a BLOG, and will have a weekly video address. Sadly, a small problem with the blog on day 1 is that they've posted an 'item' to show the Inaugural Address Text, but haven't yet pasted the text - don't do the blog till you have the text I'd suggest. All that aside, and despite my hatred for the terminology - this is set to be a Web 2.0 president. Using Online and Email to communicate with his supporters and now with the American People - publishing legislation for comment prior to his signing, and inviting comment and feedback on anything and everything. Time will tell and 'Tech History' will judge the sincerity, transparency and accuracy of all the claims being made about this online presidency, but for now, it's looking very very good. Lets hope other leaders follow suit... Kev? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
