| Look, I've seen the Today Tonight stories about this Ruslan Kogan bloke, and good on him, great publicity and a pretty darn good idea for a business. No matter how tough the times, people will still want those cool gadgets and TV's, and the cheaper they are the better. His theory - DELL STYLE - do it all online, dispatch direct. His motto - or common theme - "all made in the same factories as the big names" All that is true. Some of us though just can't bring ourselves to have the KOGAN name on the TV... Lately though, he's been getting worldwide publicity by announcing he would be the SECOND brand to launch a mobile phone using the ANDROID operating system (from Google). I didn't pay too much attention to this, but lately, I have to say, I'm starting to get a little excited. Blackberry be worried. His AGORA handset, which comes in two outright purchase price points ($299 and $399, the later has WiFi, GPS and a camera), will launch at the huge CES show in Vegas, and will ship from January 29. You know what, I want one. 3G speed, googles O/s - it's gotta be worth a look. But here's why I want one. Fully Qwerty Keyboard AND Touchscreen. So its the same 'form factor' as your Blackberry Curve/Bold and Nokia E71 etc Granted it won't be as GOOD - simply the screen isnt as big, nor as good a resolution as the BOLD, but the touch is going to give it some up and go. I wait with anticipation. OH, and for bloggers and writers who've seen the pictures below of a working version and thought YUK - lose the grey/silver bezel around the screen - this is a DEMO, that area will be BLACK | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
