| 12 Oct 2008 - Another new Blackberry - STORM - TOUCHSCREEN |

| I've hinted to this device for some time, since rumours began of it's existence. RIM (Makers of the Blackberry) Claim this has been in the works since well before the iPhone, and I'd believe that. From all reports, it seems RIM have come up with an all new approach to the touch screen. Instead of touch and activate, the STORM requires you to touch then CLICK. So, for blackberry users, that would be like rolling your trackball over an icon, then clicking it. In this case, you touch the icon then PRESS, i'm sure it works as one single action too. For those of us NOT KEEN on a touch screen, really wanting that tactile keyboard to press individual buttons will either be disappointed with the STORM or remarkably impressed. Personally, I doubt the latter. pressing S then L would mean the same big button (the screen) is pressed, but in two locations, still nothing to make you FEEL you are pressing in the wrong spot - Typing blind is possible on the Blackberry BOLD. Unlikely on the STORM. |
