18 Jun 2008 - Apple Store PREVIEW - Opens Tomorrow!
Apple will tomorrow (Thursday June 19 @ 5pm) open their 215th retail store,the first in the southern hemisphere.

Sydney is that 215th store - FINALLY - Corner of George and King street in the City.

Featuring as I reported earlier, three levels, a Mac level, a 'new product' or iPod level, and the Genius Bar and training level.

The store is impressive from the street, as are all their Retail offerings, and when you get inside you realise those Apple philosophies of design continue through the store.

Clean lines, good space between all the products, and most importantly LOTS of products combined with friendly and knowledgable staff.

There are 90 macs on the ground floor - 60 iPods on the first floor, and a 20m Genius bar on the second floor.

A stack of 'records' here - the Second largest Apple store in the world, behind London, the largest laminated glass pane in the world - at 15m high - part of 700 square meters of glass which create the atrium sticking out the front of the building.

Walk in off the street and check your mail for free - Internet access is super fast and free to use.

Up in the Genius/Training level, they can make up to 1000 personal training and genius appointments ever day.

There are 125 employees serving the three levels across 7 days of the week.

My favourite thing? The PRO LABS.

These are FREE TRAINING COURSES, spanning a month, 4 sessions, 2 hours each normally to teach you Final Cut Pro, Apeture and more.  What a brilliant idea.

Without seeing it in use yet, but comparing it to others in the world I have seen, I can tell you you will get what you want here - great products, good advice and good customer service - something lacking in most retail stores these days.

Hey!... you guys go up the wrong side of the glass stairs 8-)

Nice store huh. We.... down here in the USA, New Orleans
are getting ours hopefully this Holiday Season.
