| 26 Jan 2008 - BACKLIT KEYBOARD |
![]() |
| Every time i think to myself, YES i live the Mac, but NO i can't justify it, I sit down in the lounge room or bed room late in the evening and open the Mac up for a moment and the keyboard LIGHTS UP making it SO easy to see the keys... Such a SIMPLE thing, but so very useful. This is easily one of THE GREATEST single FEATURES of any laptop. Without any great research i ask - is there any other Laptop that has this feature? |

For example, over the weekend, I used iDVD to create two DVDs of home movies (yes, another boring leap into the tribulations and times of our clan!), and as I have two MacBooks (!!!) - one is supplied by work, the other is mine - I found with similar audio/video content, the MacBook Pro completed the encoding and burning of the DVD some 8 minutes before the MacBook. I might be proven wrong with the Leopard update due next week which I understand will add the remote optical disk function from the Air to all Macs. The MacBook already has a form of multi-touch where you can switch on some things like 2 fingered scroll and double tap clicking in System Preferences. I also use my MacBook as a desktop and really enjoy using the twin monitor setup where I can span my display. Trevor Long, Thornleigh Added: Sunday , 27 Jan 2008 09:14 am While I would like a Mac Book Pro too I really can't justify the money so I have a MacBook and to be honest the only thing it lacks compared to the Pro is a high end graphics card. This really isn't much of a compromise as I'm not into 3D gaming. Applications such as Photoshop and Final Cut Express work fine on the MacBook. The other good thing about it is the 13.3 inch screen which keeps this laptop a nice size compared to say a 17 inch Pro which is really too big for a laptop.
